Try These Unique S’mores Camping Recipes When You Stay With Us
Mark Twain Lake Jellystone Park™ has tons of activities that will make your family trip one to remember. But, nothing turns a family camping trip into a memorable experience like the quality time spent around the campfire together, especially when you have s’mores. Having the same thing all the time can get a little old though. Here are some camping recipes that put a twist on the classic s’more.
S’mores Camping Recipes
The Basic S’more
For anyone who has never made s’mores before, let’s start with the basic s’more.
Ingredients
- Graham crackers
- Hershey’s chocolate bar
- Large marshmallows
Instructions
1. Break a graham cracker in half. This will be the top and bottom of the s’more.
2. Stack a piece of chocolate bar on the bottom graham cracker.
3. Use a roasting stick to toast a large marshmallow to a golden brown over a campfire.
4. Place the toasted marshmallow on the chocolate piece and top with the other half of the graham cracker.
5. Enjoy your s’more.
All of the subsequent camping recipes will be based on the Basic S’more.
The PB&J S’more
Ingredients
- Graham crackers
- Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
- Jam or jelly of your choice
- Large marshmallows
Instructions
1. First, break the graham cracker in half and spread some jam or jelly on one side of the cracker.
2. Place a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup on top of the jelly.
3. Place your toasted marshmallow on top of the peanut butter cup using the top half of the graham cracker to sandwich it in place.
S’moreos
We are getting rid of the graham crackers for this one.
Ingredients
- Oreo cookies
- White chocolate bar
- Large marshmallows
Instructions
1. Place a piece of a white chocolate bar on an Oreo cookie.
2. Sandwich your toasted marshmallow using another Oreo cookie on top.
The King S’mores
Elvis Presley loved peanut butter sandwiches fried in bacon grease. Try this Elvis-inspired s’more next time you camp.
Ingredients
- Graham crackers
- Peanut butter
- Banana slices
- Cooked bacon strips
- Large marshmallows
Instructions
1. Spread the peanut butter onto the bottom half of your graham cracker.
2. Place banana slices on top of the peanut butter.
3. Break the bacon strips to fit within the graham cracker half and place them on top of the banana slices.
4. Using the top half of the graham cracker, sandwich your toasted marshmallow between the top graham cracker and the bacon.
